We are delighted to launch Natural Shoots wildflower meadow seeds at Emmett & Stone in Little Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Not only does this offer their customers a fun and practical range of gifts, but, creates a new local link between shooting, upcycling and habitat creation.

Emmett & Stone are supporting Natural Shoots in several practical ways. They are fixing collection stickers to boxes for paper shotgun cases, acting as a collection point for used paper shotgun cases, and encouraging their commercial customers, including sporting estates and shoots, to connect with Natural Shoots.

Changing what happens on shoot day

The idea is simple: separate paper shotgun cases from plastic cases on shoot day, keep the paper cases dry, and store them for return to the Natural Shoots upcycling network.

Instead of paper cases going to landfill or incineration, they are remanufactured and given a new purpose as innovative gifts filled with native wildflower meadow seeds.

For sporting estates and shoot managers, changing the disposal process can be as simple as separating paper and plastic cases at the point of use. We are keen to talk to estates and shoots across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire and the wider South East about how they can become part of the network. We already have 150+ collection points across the UK but really want to expand this.

Circularity in action

The really exciting part of our relationship with Emmett & Stone is that the circular loop is already working locally. Some of the paper shotgun cases remanufactured by Natural Shoots have been used by Emmett & Stone customers, collected locally by Natural Shoots, and are now back on sale at Emmett & Stone – this time filled with wildflower seeds and ready to create new meadow habitat.

Used locally. Collected locally. Refilled with local meadow flower seeds.

It is a simple example of how shotgun case upcycling can turn a waste material from shooting into an opportunity to create wildflower habitat. Natural Shoots was founded on the principle of “Waste reimagined ~ new habitats enabled.” The partnership with Emmett & Stone shows how that idea can work in the real world – connecting the Buckinghamshire and Berkshire shooting community with practical habitat creation.

If you are visiting Emmett & Stone in Little Marlow, come and discover Natural Shoots. And if you run a shooting estate or commercial shoot and want to change how you handle paper shotgun cases, we would love to hear from you.

One used shotgun case can become one small opportunity for nature. Thousands can become something much bigger.
